Bar Lab Salle De Bordeaux Reopens at AKIC Campus

05 March 2025

The Angelo King International Center (AKIC) Campus of De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde continues to strengthen its reputation as a premier training ground for future hospitality leaders with the reopening of Salle de Bordeaux. This newly renovated bar laboratory serves as an essential learning space for students under the Bachelor of Science in Hospitality and Luxury Management (BS-HLM) program of the School of Hotel, Restaurant, and Institution Management (SHRIM).

The launch, hosted by the World-class Hoteliers in Progress (WHIP) on February 24, 2025, brought together industry professionals, faculty, alumni, and students for an evening of craftsmanship and camaraderie. Designed to replicate the ambiance of high-end bar settings, Salle de Bordeaux boasts cutting-edge equipment and an extensive selection of spirits, coffee, and tea, providing students with a hands-on platform to master beverage preparation and management.

Throughout the event, alumni and faculty showcased their expertise through dynamic bartending performances, presenting signature drinks that blended creativity with technical precision. The enhancements to Salle de Bordeaux highlight Benilde’s commitment to immersive learning, bridging the gap between theory and real-world application in the evolving hospitality landscape.

Beyond BS-HLM, the AKIC Campus also houses other SHRIM programs, including the Bachelor of Science in Culinary Arts Management (BS-CAM), Bachelor of Science in International Hospitality Management (BS-IHM), and Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management (BSTM). Together, these programs cultivate a holistic understanding of the hospitality industry, equipping students with the specialized skills needed to excel in their respective fields.

With the reopening of Salle de Bordeaux, Benilde reinforces its dedication to shaping globally competitive hospitality professionals through innovation, excellence, and real-world experience like no other.
