Diploma in Project Management

The Diploma in Project Management is a six-module intensive course designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of project management across industries. The first of its kind in the Philippines, it enables students to master key project management aspects and apply them in real-world scenarios through team-based projects. The program follows PMI®’s A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide) – sixth edition, the global standard in project management.

Module Description

This module introduces the fundamentals of project management, including key terms, the project environment, and the impact on projects. It explores the project manager’s role and its value to the organization, as well as the code of ethics and professional conduct expected in the field.

Module Objectives

By the end of the module, participants will be able to demonstrate knowledge of project management through examples and business documents, analyze the impact of different project environments, explain the project manager’s role with stakeholders, identify key skills for project managers, and assess the importance of ethics and professional conduct in the field.

Module Description

This module explores the planning performance domain in project management, providing project managers with the skills to develop a project management plan, particularly focused on scheduling. It covers all key areas of project management, including scope, cost, schedule, quality, communications, resources, risk, procurement, stakeholders, and integration. The learning experience combines asynchronous activities (recorded sessions, research, quizzes) and synchronous interactions (case discussions, presentations) for a well-rounded, engaging experience.

Module Objectives

By the end of the module, participants will be able to describe and apply key components of scope, requirements, resource, quality, and risk management plans. They will create a work breakdown structure, project schedule, and team charter, and understand how to develop project budgets. Participants will also learn to manage risks using a risk register and tailor a project management plan to suit specific project needs.

Module Description

This module teaches project managers how to monitor and control projects effectively. It covers all key project knowledge areas to identify the best strategies for achieving business goals, incorporating change and configuration management. The course includes both asynchronous activities (recorded sessions, research, quizzes) and synchronous components (discussions and presentations) to promote active learning and engagement.

Module Objectives

By the end of the module, participants will be able to distinguish between project monitoring and controlling, identify key project management areas for monitoring and controlling, analyze project performance using Earned Value and Earned Schedule Analysis, evaluate the effects of changes via the Change Control Process, understand the purpose of configuration management and audits, and learn how to create and utilize consolidated performance reports.

This module focuses on managing risks and issues in projects, covering planning, identification, analysis, and response to both positive and negative risks. Participants will engage in group activities to understand the full risk management process and its impact on project success.
