07 March 2025

De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde made history on March 1 as it hosted the 38th Philippine Junior Marketing Association (PJMA) General Assembly for the first time. Held at the Augusto-Rosario Gonzalez Theater in Benilde’s Taft Campus, the event brought together over 500 marketing students from 90 schools across the country.

With the theme, “2025 IN-SYNC: Powering Retention Edge,” the assembly explored cutting-edge strategies and emerging trends in brand loyalty and customer retention.

The program opened with a warm welcome from Dean Joana Diñoso of Benilde’s School of Management and Information Technology, who set the stage with her inspiring remarks. Keynote speaker Ms. Germaine A. Reyes, CEO and President of Synergy Market Research, captivated the audience with insights into the emotional connections that underpin customer retention. “Brands are actually about building relationships that last; don’t just sell—build community and trust to effectively share value,” Reyes remarked.

Seasoned digital marketing strategist Mr. James Dala emphasized the importance of synchronizing brand engagement across platforms, urging attendees to “reinforce identity and ensure consistency in representing your brand.” Meanwhile, content creator and mobility advocate Mr. Buji Babiera shared his expertise on niche content and its power to foster meaningful relationships between brands and their audiences. “Niche marketing transforms a one-time promotion into a big-time opportunity, brands truly see the magic when they target the right audience,” Babiera shared.

The assembly also celebrated leadership transitions with a pinning ceremony, followed by the introduction of regional directors by VP for Chapters Charlotte Esposo, symbolizing PJMA’s strong nationwide presence across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

Attendees were further energized by interactive activities, including trivia games and a raffle sponsored by companies like Dazzle Me and Pru Life UK. Meanwhile, an online career fair featured job opportunities from notable corporate partners, such as Prestige Paper Products, Blogapalooza, and Flowerstore.ph.

In her closing remarks, VP for Memberships Irene Naquilla highlighted the importance of leveraging innovation to build trust and loyalty in the evolving marketing landscape. “Retaining customers is about building relationships and driving sustainable growth,” she said.

Erickson Jao, Marketing Management Program Chair at Benilde, reflected on the success of the event: “Hosting the largest gathering of young marketers in the country reinforces our commitment to providing top-tier marketing education and industry connections. It positions Benilde as the preferred choice for students aspiring to excel in business and marketing.”
